fall with fenty

I’ve been a big fan of Fenty Beauty since they released their first products in 2017 and nothing has really changed. As the years have gone on, I’ve continued to use my Fenty Beauty products when it comes to makeup but as the pandemic continues I haven’t found a good reason to really beat my face. Luckily, my love for Fenty lives on with the conception of Fenty Skin.

During this past summer, Rihanna released her long-awaited skincare line that includes three 2-in-1 products to kickstart your day and finish off your evening. I went ahead and got the whole kit during Fenty’s early access launch as an early birthday present to myself. I know that a lot people were concerned about the products including fragrance and a few other undesirable ingredients but I took the chance. I have pretty easy skin since majority of my acne dissipated after middle school. Also, my skin worked really well with the Fenty Beauty products I’d used before so I wasn’t all that worried.

So, I’ve been using these products as my regular skincare routine for the past two months and I’ve grown to really love them. I actually really love the fragrance of the whole line and I’m so happy that it doesn’t cause an unwanted reaction. Each step of the routine leaves my skin feeling loved and cared for like words of affirmation from my grandmother. That sounds extra but I’m serious! I always finish my morning routine feeling refreshed, moisturized, and ready to take on the day. Besides the way that the products make me feel, I’m seeing real results. Every month I’m prone to period pimples and Miss Fenty Skin handles it quickly. Within days, my skin is usually back to normal and I don’t have to worry about my mask is just going to make it worse by irritating it all day. Side note: please make sure y’all are washing your masks regularly, not just for skin health but for your overall health! Even on the days that I fuck around and [irresponsibly] pop a pimple, I know that the dark spots won’t be there for long thanks to the combination of the Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner + Serum and the Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer + SPF.

If I had to pick a favorite product from Fenty Skin’s first product drop, it’d definitely be the Hyrda Vizor Invisible Moisturizer + SPF. I love that the moisturizer and sunscreen are a combo product because it simplifies my routine and it’s something I could use for my whole body if I really wanted to. It smells fucking amazing and it includes lots of great antioxidants that I know my skin has fallen in love with.

Besides the Fenty Skin products, I’ve fallen in love with a few more of Fenty Beauty’s products that keep me looking cute in quarantine. First is the Brow MVP Sculpting Wax & Styler ($20), which gets my brows into tip top shape within minutes. This product is perfect for the quick touch up to my brows before I head out to work or to run some errands. Every morning, I wake up and my brows are all outta wack and after a couple uses of the brush on one end and the wax on the other end, I’m ready to take on the day.

The next FB product that’s captured my heart is the Pro Kiss’r Lip-Loving Scrubstick ($16). Y’all, this product right here makes my day every time I use it. It’s my favorite product that I’ve ever used to exfoliate my lips by far, mainly due to the fact that I don’t have to use my fingers. It’s set up like lipstick so you just twist up and it unveils a scrub stick full of apricot seeds ready to exfoliate. This product is definitely in my top two of all my beauty products and I’m so happy that I found it. It always leaves my lips super soft and it’s so easy and quick.

Now, my favorite everyday product that had me recommending it to everyone I know. The Pro Kiss’r Luscious Lip Balm ($18) is one of my favorite things in this whole wide world. It’s a lip balm that goes on like lip gloss but doesn’t feature all that sticky mess. This is huge for me because I’ve never been a fan of lip gloss and how it sticks to literally everything, it’s just annoying. The Pro Kiss’r lip balm provides a sweet (literally, it’s smells and even taste amazing lol) compromise between the two products that has me head over heels in love. I own two of these, one in the original invisipink sheen (Hint Hint) and another in the sheer chocolate tint (Cocoa Drizzle). I use Hint Hint for regular days (especially since I spend a lot of my time wearing a mask) and Cocoa Drizzle for when I’m looking for a little pizzazz and I’m planning to take my mask off for a photo-op. I love this this lip balm and can’t see myself going back to Chapstick unless I absolutely have to. Like I said, it’s smells amazing with a hint of peach-vanilla and I’m just itching to kiss someone because I know they’ll love it just as much as I do.

Fenty has been a pretty big staple in my beauty routine lately, helping me stay cute while fresh-faced. I’m super grateful to have products created by a black woman that actually work for me. I’m looking forward to more drops from both Fenty Beauty and Skin in the future. Fingers crossed for a full body moisturizer + SPF!
